A few drinks during pregnancy may be OK, study suggests
Wed Jun 20, 2012
Here's my question: Why risk it?
Dad punishes son with "Homeless" sign
Tue Jun 19, 2012
I think this is horrible. I would never, ever do something like that to my children. Because, as Amy McReady said on her blog, it starts with teaching kids when they're young. Model appropriate behavior and your kids will behave properly. Treat them with respect and they will reciprocate. Teach your …
Majority of dads say they do the grocery shopping
Fri Jun 15, 2012
I can't trust my husband to do the grocery shopping properly, even if I give him a detailed list. I do the shopping, he prefers that. I plan our meals ahead of time and make detailed lists. It helps save money and ensures that we eat healthy meals.
Dads' household duties worth less than moms'
Tue Jun 12, 2012
My husband does a lot. A LOT. I am incredibly grateful for all he does. I know that I certainly would not be able to take care of three kids under 4 years old and keep the house spotless and cook all our meals and do the yard work and take care of all the little things. And, he is grateful for every …

Crib notes: Do you sit through the whole recital?
Wed Jun 6, 2012
It's definitely rude to leave a show early. As a child I was in dance recitals and I always joined the audience after I was finished. I would never dream of leaving early, it's incredibly disrespectful. All the performers work hard, as do the teachers.
Crib notes: Suckers or stickers: Do you let you kids eat candy?
Tue Jun 5, 2012
We've had people give our kids little suckers once in a while. It doesn't bother us. Yes, they're strangers. Yes, it's candy. But, we're with them and they have to get our approval before they take it. And, it happens so rarely that they know it's a treat. Candy isn't great for kids, but there's not …
Crib notes: Have you ever left a sleeping baby in the car -- even for just a minute?
Tue May 29, 2012
I would never leave my children in the car. I even hate running back into the house when my kids are already buckled into their car seats. And our garage is attached to our house, and we live in a rural neighborhood. It's not the fear of being charged with a crime, it's my paranoia that someone woul …
50 shades of snot: The real reason SAHMs are depressed
Fri May 25, 2012
First of all, the caption on that picture is just stupid. She's obviously ironing a dress. Second, I love being a stay at home mom. I chose to bring my kids into this world, why would I not want to raise them myself? Yes, it's hard work. Having three kids 3 1/2 and under means I'm a master at multit …

Teenage girl calls cops to report mom having loud sex
No.
Boys play with toy guns... because they are boys
No
My husband, a veteran of the Marine Corps who fought in their bloodiest battle since Vietnam, will not allow our children to play with guns. As they get older we'll see if his stance on water guns changes, but for now, they are absolutely not allowed. Since he's seen first hand what guns do to peopl …
Have you lied to your kids today?
Less often
No
No
No
No
I really don't lie to my kids. I think it's better to be honest with them from the start. They're not really at the questioning phase, but when we get there I'll explain things as best I can, regardless of what the question is. When my kids want to watch a show I don't like or want a treat I don't t …
Taming temper tantrums: Are you doing it wrong?
Never
My son is 18 months old and is starting to throw tantrums, something his 3 year old sister really never did. (They both went through brief tantrum phases at 10 months, which I ignored, and the phases were over in a few days.) He gets upset when he can't have his way. If I say he can't go somewhere, …

Yes. You need them!
Say please... or else! One mom's experiment with teaching manners
Sometimes; their manners are a work in progress.
